Abstract: We will describe recent progress on the analysis of Random Polymer models. In particular, we will focus on Random Polymers with log-gamma disorder (aka log-gamma polymer) and describe how the tropical RSK-correspondence connects the log-gamma polymer to Whittaker functions and representation theory and has lead to the confirmation of the asymptotics, via an exactly solvable approach. Extensions of this approach allow further to the study of polymers on top of hard walls with pinning effects. The talk based on joint works with I.Corwin, N. O'Connell and T. Seppalainen.
