Title : The Brauer-Manin-Scharaschkin Obstruction to Existence of Rational Points on Subvarieties of Semi-Abelian Varieties over Global Fields

Abstract: Since Scharaschkin's reformulation of the Brauer-Manin obstruction of curves in terms of a certain adèlic intersection, this intersection has been studied in both settings of Diophantine Geometry and Arithmetic Dynamics as obstructions to the existence of global points on some varieties. The favorable situation is that this intersection is exactly the topological closure of those associated global points, In this talk, I will present several cases where this favorable situation is established, and discuss the key ingredients of the proofs.
